Medical Content and Evidence Policy

This page explains who creates the health information on this site, how evidence is selected, and which checks take place before publication.

01

Purpose and audience

Content is designed to help patients understand symptoms, reach the appropriate specialty, discuss the purpose and alternatives of a proposed test or procedure, and prepare for follow-up. Web content is not an examination, individual diagnosis, prescription or emergency service.

02

Who writes and who verifies?

Clinical pages display an author, update date and medical-verification status. Claims about Assoc. Prof. Süleyman Günay’s expertise or academic activity are published only when supported by an official physician profile, congress programme, society record, peer-reviewed publication or reliable primary document. Pending clinical review is never presented as completed review.

03

Evidence hierarchy

Priority is given to current professional-society guidance, peer-reviewed primary research and systematic reviews, public-health institutions and official patient information. Sources such as ESGE, ASGE, ACG, AGA, ECCO, EASL, NIH/NIDDK, NCI and the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology are selected by topic. Social posts are not medical evidence and are used only when clearly identified as primary proof of an event.

04

Depth standard

Core procedure and condition pages are not written as superficial short summaries. In addition to definition, they explain how clinical decisions are made, which findings change management, realistic alternatives, limits of the test or procedure, complications, how pathology or final results affect the next step, and long-term follow-up. Authority hubs such as EUS, ERCP, ESD and POEM include long-form interpretation of current guidelines, the patient population to which a recommendation applies, and what the evidence does not establish. A single study or case is never generalised into a treatment guarantee.

05

How direct quotations from Süleyman Günay are handled

No new sentence is created and placed in quotation marks under Süleyman Günay’s name. Direct quotations are published only when the exact wording can be traced to a public interview, institutionally published content carrying his authorship, or a verifiable primary document supplied by the physician team. Source and context are displayed next to the quotation. Translations are explicitly labelled as translations from the Turkish original. Untraceable opinions are not presented as quotations; when clinically useful, they may be described as an approach without quotation marks and without implying a verbatim statement.

06

How a page is produced

Patient questions and clinical decision points are identified first. Definition, candidacy, alternatives, preparation, procedure or diagnostic pathway, risks, urgent warnings and follow-up are explained separately. Important clinical statements are supported by appropriate evidence, and clarity of language is reviewed together with medical accuracy before publication.

07

Language and translation

Turkish and English content is published on separate language pages. Other-language content is reviewed with particular attention to preserving medical meaning and patient safety. Translation does not replace the original clinical source or physician review.

08

Updates, corrections and independence

Medical evidence, guidelines and institutional information change. Clinical pages carry an update date and are reassessed when material guidance, safety information or an error is identified. Corrections can be submitted through the contact page. No page guarantees a procedure or outcome, and commercial conversion does not determine evidence selection.

09

Findability and transparency

The site presents Assoc. Prof. Süleyman Günay’s physician identity, clinical fields and scientific sources in a clear and consistent way. The aim is to help patients, health professionals and other readers find relevant information easily and see what evidence supports important clinical statements.
